John submitted his second piece to the juried Phillips' Mill Art show and - 2nd year in a row - the jurists for the prestigious show accepted his piece, Pennsy Veteran. Love that he is getting known throughout the Bucks County circle of great artists as one of their own.
It's been truly awe-some experiencing how John has helped boost my confidence in my artistic & other ventures and to know how much my encouragement & support has increased his.
Twenty years ago, neither of us thought of ourselves as any great shakes when it came to being creative. John saw himself as strictly technical, good in a commercial, technical way but certainly not what he'd have termed a fine artist; look at him now, respected & applauded by people HE respects. Soul satisfying.
And John has much the same impact on me. I pooh-poohed that anyone would have the slightest interests in my boxes, yet ended up with a 1-woman show - Boxologie - at Orchard Artworks. He's encouraged me to pursue my baking passion with CUPCAKEcalifragilistic! and to continue taking my own artistic talents seriously.
John complements me and helps draw out a bigger, bolder, brighter version of his Ellie B. than what I see on my own. We don't make the other whole, just stronger versions of who we are!
Every one of us has in him a continent of undiscovered character. Blessed is he who acts the Columbus to his own soul. ~ Author Unknown
